Synopsis
Fifteen years ago, summer camper Emma Davis watched sleepily as her three cabin mates snuck out of their cabin in the dead of night. The last she–and anyone–saw of them was Vivian closing the cabin door behind her, hushing Emma with a finger pressed to her lips.
Now a rising star in the NYC art scene, Emma turns her past into paintings.. They catch the attention of Francesca Harris-White, the socialite and wealthy owner of the very same Camp Nightingale–and when Francesca implores Emma to return to the camp as a painting counselor, Emma sees an opportunity to find closure and move on.
Yet, it is immediately clear that all is not right at Camp Nightingale. Already haunted by surfacing memories, Emma is suddenly plagued by a security camera pointed directly at her cabin, mounting mistrust from Francesca, and, most disturbing of all, cryptic clues Vivian apparently left behind about the camp’s twisted origins. And as history begins to repeat itself and three girls go missing again, Emma must face threats from both man and nature in order to uncover all the buried secrets–including what really happened all those years ago.

My Thoughts
Incredible thriller!!! Could not put it down. This story delves into the twisted web of lies and guilt, keeping you on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The suspenseful plot had me guessing throughout the entire book, and the unexpected ending completely blindsided me. The eerie atmosphere created by this author’s writing made the story all the more nerve-wracking, with a lingering sense of unease that had me feeling like someone was watching over my shoulder as I turned each page. The author intricately weaves together a timeline that jumps from the present day to 15 years ago when three campers mysteriously disappeared at a summer camp. You are skillfully taken on a journey that unravels the dark secrets and hidden truths lurking beneath the surface. 100% must-read for anyone who loves a good psychological thriller that will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew.
Ee are introduced to Emma, our main character who harbors deep scars from an unforgettable event that took place 15 years ago at an all-girls summer camp. Despite the haunted memories that have cost her many sleepless nights, Emma is summoned back to the camp after all these years to teach art and painting to new campers. With her unyielding resolve, Emma embarks on a journey to finally put to rest the ghosts that have followed her for so long, seeking closure and peace amidst the shadows of the past.
The ending had me completely speechless; I mean, I ended up just staring at a wall, completely lost for words. The unpredictability of the plot was truly incredible – I had absolutely no clue where the story was heading, and that element of surprise kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. It was spooky in the best possible way.
